No matter. What do you do when your writing schedule is thrown off? You get right back in the saddle again. Now some people really block out their time and say, "I will rise at 6am and write until 3." If you can do this, the more power to you. I used to be able to do this. As I got older, I found that life began to really get in the way and I would get really stressed out by the amount of things and people who would interrupt my writing time. Now, what I do instead is set daily goals: Today I'll write a chapter. Today I'll begin my outline. Today I'll revise. That way I have a definable goal for the day to complete and I'm not held up by a time frame. If I can't get it done by 6am, I'll get it done after CSI:Miami. No biggie. The object is to write and work on selling my writing every day. Now, if I was lucky enough to be financially set as a full-time writer, then I'd go back to rise-and-shine at 6am and hit the keyboard, but I'm not there yet.
In the meantime, I'll set some writing goals for myself and get going! What are your goals?
